Introduced by the DuPont Company in the 1930s, rubber neoprene is a versatile material designed to meet the demand for a chemical and outdoor resistant synthetic rubber. While other synthetic rubber types may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this neoprene sheet is designed to endure. Our neoprene sheet is actually a powerful synthetic rubber compound made up of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR) to inherit the strengths of both rubber materials. The result is a reliable vulcanized rubber sheet with a sleek, black finish. Thanks to this mix of synthetic elastomers, the solid neoprene has a moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. This rubber neoprene has excellent abrasion resistance and works great in industrial and commercial applications. This sheet neoprene has a wide range of resistance thanks to the unique artificial rubber compound that makes it up. This neoprene rubber has moderate resistance to substances that can easily degrade other synthetic rubbers. Acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals are no match for this tough neoprene sheeting, which also has great outdoor abilities. This neoprene rubber is highly valued in outdoor applications, as it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and damaging weather effects without showing wear for a long time. Though other rubber materials may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, only rubber neoprene offers this diverse cumulation of resistance. This 1/2” neoprene is one of the thicker options available and works best in high-stress physical applications. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene durometer. This sheet neoprene has a durometer of 70A to give it a very hard surface with minimal flexibility. The 70-durometer neoprene is stiff and works best in highly abrasive applications such as neoprene bumpers or pads. The thick sheet rubber can also be cut down and used to make neoprene lining, gaskets, and seals. This versatile neoprene product is the perfect material for high-stress applications of any kind.
