This is a novel written at a furious pace. So furious that the author has neglected to put in any punctuation. That might sound like a criticism. Actually, it's not meant as such. I loved this book: its like a vortex that sucks you in and gives you no alternative but to go with the flow. Funny by turns, violent by turns. But always engaging. In brief, its the story of a young man who lives in his imagination, fixated on violence. But get beyond the first 20 pages and a deeper personality begins to emerge. Martin Wilson, the main character, is troubled and deeply insecure. His story is touching and full of pathos. Life has a way of rubbing the hard edges off us as we journey on. So it proves with Martin. I found the story to be ultimately life enhancing.
