STOVE TOP DIRECTIONSCOOK Mix 4 cups water, 1 can (14 1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, Rice Mix and 2 tbsp. butter (optional) in 3-quart saucepan until well blended. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover. Simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender.ENJOY Remove from Heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving.PAIR Great with pork chops, shrimp or steak.MICROWAVE DIRECTIONSMicrowave ovens vary; adjust cooking times as need. Cooking times are based on an 1100 watt microwave oven.COOK Mix 3 3/4 cups hot water, 1 can (14 1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, Rice Mix and 2 tbsp. butter (optional) in 3-quart microwavable bowl until well blended. This rice is so easy to make and spoil taste! I add a can of diced tomatoes with green chillies. Sometimes add smoked sausage too. Great value for the money! Thank you Wal-Mart and Zaterans

Easy and tasty
I got the product for free in exchange for writing the review. I am very bad at cooking rice. When using boxed rice products and following directions to a T, more often than not, rice comes out either undercooked or overcooked. However, this rice mix came out perfect texture and doneness. I also really enjoyed the flavor of this specific mix - it was perfect amount of flavorful and spicy but not hot. I added fresh tomatoes instead of canned tomatoes and it came out great. Highly recommend.

Better than expected
I usually buy the San Francisco Treat because of their price, But I got to say this was much tastier! I made it according to the directions on the box, but I used diced tomatoes with habanero for a little extra spiciness. I didn't add any extra seasonings to the rice, and it taste even better than the other brand with added spices! Even as I empty the packet into the pot of water, I could smell the spices of chili powder and cumin. I will definitely consider this brand next time I'm looking for a rice dish side. I rarely see Zatarain's on sale, but would 100% purchase it over the other brand if it was! This was a nice addition to my surf and turf last night. You might be saying to yourself, Spanish rice with surf and turf? What kind of combo is that?? It might be unorthodox, but it was good!
