We upgraded shortly after buying an all-in-one. We were not disappointed and it sounds amazing paired with these speakers. While we dont have the convienance of the radio, CD, and cassette option on the main player the sound coming from this system is well worth the trade off. All in ones or suitcase players are a great start for people with modest budgets but there is definitely a big sound difference. Im in no way an audiophile but I do appreciate good sound quality. My only issue was figuring out how the speakers and turntable work together. When taking it out of package I pulled the needle head off and ended up putting it back partially. I thought the speakers had issues but it was because the stylus wasnt fully In that it didnt transmit sound to the speakers. Normally with active speakers and an auxiliary connection they tell you to flip it to line in. Hitting line in will only partially transmit the sound (means it stays low volume even turning the base up. Hit the phono option and it will fully transmit the sound to the speakers. If youre having issues with sound check the stylus and/or the phono setting. If youre looking for a middle ground thats ready to go without buying additional parts this is the way to go. Its easy to understand why audio technica, even at a budget level has made a good name for itself (along with Logitech).
