Often used for floodlights, work and security lights, showroom, stage and studio lights, floor lamps, landscape lights, etc. The R7s light bulb has omni-directional 360 degree beam angle. There is no mercury content and it is instant on.
This halogen light bulb takes 300W, giving 4000 lumens of light. Assuming an average of 3 hours of daily operation and average cost of 11 cents per kW, the yearly energy cost is $36.0.

Bright and low initial cost
I use these bulbs in a floor lamp over my reading chair. I bought them to replace the LED version bulbs, which use only about 40 watts vs these bulbs at 300 watts, because the LED simply were not bright enough, being purportedly 200w equivalents. I can accept the 300 watts for just a few hours each evening, as long as I can see what I'm reading, and these bulbs cost only $2.00 each vs. $8.00 for each LED.
