Spinrite 291101-01009 Caron X Pantone Yarn, Blueberry

I purchased quite a bit of the Coconut Cream and am crocheting my mom a shawl with it. She always gets cold in church because of the air conditioning, so I thought this would be a great idea. This lovely yarn is so soft and easy to work with. Yes it does have a tendency to split if you're not careful, but sometimes you can avoid that just by slowing down a bit. I do wish the solid color packages would come all in one length, so I didn't have to unwind and tie together each hank. Doing so means I have too many knots in my project for my taste, but since it's a crocheted shawl, my mom won't be able to tell. I do love the feel of this yarn, and am glad it's machine washable & dryable.

I love the vibrant colours in this yarn. Bought several different combinations and crocheted several hats using mostly half double crochet and front post half double crochet and single crochet. Stitches looks great . I would say this yarn is more like a 4.5 than 5. A bit thicker than the regular size 4 yarn I normally use. I want to make all my hats now from this yarn. I don't think its between a 3 & 4 as mentioned in another review. It does unravel sometimes which is normal with many yarns unfortunately . Also you do need to spend more time unwinding the yarn before you start because each colour is separated and not joined together, tied with yarn. So this does add about 45 minutes to one hour per skein to do. But as also mentioned in the reviews, these skeins are meant to be used for multi-coloured projects.
