It needs to be checked closely for blade clearance

The blades did not fit close enough to each other so there was no ability to cut thin metal without distortion or ragged edges. The slop made it a poor cuttng tool. I took a piece of 0.022" sheet metal and created a shim with 3 bolt holes in it to fit between the body and the stationary blade. Now the blades set close all the way throught the stroke and even allow cutting paper thin material out near the end-tip of the action. At a later date, I will be wire brushing away the body filler material that covers the welds to see if they are as poor as other machines I have encountered. It is better to add weld at locations that are still aligned.
