This thread sealant is intended to be used for general purpose sealing in pipe threads, and permits quick, clean economical sealing of male pipe threads of all sizes while reducing the risk of system contamination common with liquid and paste sealants. It is ideally suited for General Plumbing, OEM, MRO, Jan/San, Industrial and Industrial Maintenance Supply Houses. This size and put-up is intended for inclusion in kits by manufacturers in various industries: plumbing and hardware, environmental, asset preservation and we even have breweries including it in their Home-Brew kits! It is more than enough to complete any one-time installation. The self-lubricating quality of this unsintered Merco Threadmaster PTFE Plumbers tape makes joints easy to assemble and disassemble, and extends the fatigue life of the sealed connection. Totally maintenance free premium grade regular density PTFE thread sealant tape is virtually chemically inert, non-toxic and nonflammable. It will withstand temperatures from -450F to 550F (265C). 10 years shelf life allows pre-wrapping and storage of threaded parts.
