Description: According to the naturalist Humbolt, Buriti means 'life tree', as most human necessities could be supplied by its fruit. It grows in and near swamps and other wet areas in tropical South America. This yellow to golden yellow oil is extracted from the fruit pulp, which is very rich in carotenoids (the yield of Vitamin A is 50.000 U.I. p/100g ).
Color/Consistency/Aromatic Description: Yellow to transparent liquid with a medium viscosity, it has very little, if any, scent.
Common Uses: It is generally used at 2% in skin-care formulations such as creams and lotions, bath and body oils, tanning oils and after-sun care.
Absorption Rate: It is absorbed by skin smoothly and quickly, leaving very little oily feeling.
Shelf Life: Store in cool temperatures (below 25 °C) away from light and moisture in an air-tight container. Users can expect a shelf life of up to 2 years with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.
Storage: It is recommended that cold-pressed carrier oils be kept in a cool, dark place to maintain freshness and achieve maximum shelf life. If refrigerated, bring to room temperature before using. We are buying our product from an organically certified supplier, made with the organic ingredient.
