The story is about how one tough cookie, 57 year old Grace Ragland with multiple sclerosis (and, not known at the time, lymphoma) tackled the Tour Divide, a bicycle race and personal challenge of more than 2700 miles of mountainous cycling from Banff, Canada to the US/Mexico border, mostly riding solo in the "backcountry" because illness at the very beginning of the race put her a couple of days behind the other competitors. And she's carrying everything she needs with her -- camping stuff, items for emergency bike repairs, food, water, and more, adding a lot of weight to her rig and making the journey that much tougher. It is the story about some of the physical, mental/emotional, and personal challenges encountered on the route, how Grace faced and dealt with those challenges, and how the experience changed her.
