I needed new shoes for a tuxedo and did not want solid patent leather style. These have a stitched "leather" saddle in the middle and heal which makes these really handsome and far more stylish than a full patent leather style. My shoe size is 10.5 - 11 depending on the shoe and the reviews said these run large. My exact foot length is 10.75 inches with normal width and these in a size 10 (44) are perfect and comfortable. I have 30 days to the wedding, and I am wearing them to break them in but honestly, they are really comfortable out of the box. The insoles have padding in the heal which is nice and the soles are black, comfortably flexible, rubber with a pattern for some traction. If you are looking for something stylish that you may wear 5 times a year you will not be sorry. I am very happy and these shoes tic all my marks, Quality, Style, Comfort and you cannot beat the price.
