GRADE 316 STAINLESS STEEL. Grade 316 or Type 316 stainless steel is manufactured for superior rust and corrosion resistance to withstand the elements. T316 is an excellent choice for exposure to moisture and saltwater environments. Can be used for indoor/outdoor applications.

7 STRANDS X 19 WIRES. Our 3/8-inch aircraft cable is constructed of 7 strands, with 19 wires per strand and a steel core for added strength. Breaking strength: 11,000 lb.

CHOOSING GRADE 304 vs GRADE 316 STAINLESS STEEL. Both types of stainless steel are more corrosion resistant than galvanized steel. 304 is a good choice for exposure to many types of freshwater moisture (depending on the mineral content of the water), while 316 is the ideal choice for use in saltwater environments. 316 has a lower Minimum Breaking Strength than 304, and neither are as strong as galvanized.
