Like my old Craftsman

Have not actually used it yet but it is identical (except color) to the Craftsman sprinkler I bought in 2008, which lasted till this summer. It gave 10 years of excellent watering. Slides through the grass nicely when you reposition it, waters a huge area, never clogged up even with our hard water, perfect. I bought 2.

Sprinkler worth its weight needs...heft.

I removed 60 trees and 60 stumps in my front yard and needed a sprinkler to water the new grass. I needed a sprinkler that would throw a wide coverage to catch the areas for the grass seed to be wet and grow. The distance the sprinkler broadcasts is GOOD and covers a very wide, wet area. I liked this very much for that's less time moving a placing it in a new corner. What I didn't like was the plastic the sprinkler is made to hold It together. Yes, plastic is in, but a good piece of iron goes a long way. There isn't enough “weight” to keep the sprinkler steady unless it is firmly settled on the ground. If it's tilted, the sprinkler will may warble and may not cover the area you're interested in. It's not a Sears model and it does what it is supposed to do, however, be aware that it is plastic, aluminum, and a rubber gasket for the hose and that's it. If it were heavier and placed on the ground with a wider surface, that is...firmly resting on good old mother ground, I would give this sprinkler a higher rating.
