This filter lasts 6 months. I keep my purifier on 24/7. It truly makes a difference in smells and air quality. It's easy to change. I notice a difference if it gets turned off. It is not particularly quiet, so I keep it on setting %232, which is somewhat more quiet. Oh, one annoying thing, the air purifier is hard to move around so I bought a rolling plant stand to put it on to move it!
