HP Pavilion 14" FHD IPS, Core i5-1135G7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Silver, Windows 10 Home, 14-dv0010wm

The HP Pavilion 14 FHD IPS, Core i5-1135G7 is a mid-range laptop designed for home use but can might as well be used for business. This HP Pavilion sports the 11th gen I-5 Tiger Lake processor which as one would expect better than the 10th gen I-5 Ice Lake processor. Launched in September last year, 11th gen processors were slow to roll out. Thus a computer with an 11th gen Intel processor as of this writing is always a good thing. It also supports the newer iRIS integrated GPU which is faster than the older UHD GPU. (But do note that a discrete graphics card will always be faster.) This laptop also has two 4GB 3200Mhz RAM (8GB total) chips which is suited for most uses nowadays. But unfortunately, there is no information whether this laptop can be upgraded to a total 16GB. It also has a 256GB Samsung NVMe SSD. Again this is most suited for most uses and can store most apps that one would use. Furthermore, cloud storage for personal data such as photos and videos are pretty much in place nowadays. As for the laptop itself, it is a sleek looking 14 inch computer with full high definition meaning it has 1080p resolution. And unlike budget laptops, this model has a silver metal casing instead of plastic found in such laptops. On the left side of the laptop, you would find a 3.5mm jack and a standard USB port. On the other side, you can locate the power port, an HDMI port, another standard USB port, a USB-C port and lastly a micro-SD card slot. It also nice to note that this laptop has a back-lit keyboard wherein you can adjust the light. And battery life is expected to run at 7.5 hours. Unfortunately, I have as of this writing, I have not yet tested the actual battery life of this computer. Other things to note which may be of concern to buyers but can be easily remedied if you have some computer know how. First, the touch pad didn't work at first. But a quick run through of Windows Device Manager did the trick. It seemed that the touch pad was deactivated prior to setup. But it took one minute to fix. So please don't be worried if the touchpad doesn't work at first. Second, the battery would yield an error stating that it is not calibrated. But according to the HP support site, just fully charge the battery (mine came in at 59%) and leave it for a few hours and it will be calibrated. Again, easy peasy. Overall, this is a good computer that will last. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Wow! This is one fantastic laptop. I was a little nervous about it as I've typically stuck to Macbooks or Apple products in general (but those price tags!), but this HP Pavilion laptop has literally everything you need for a great home laptop, whether it's functionality for working or a great, HD-resolution display for Netflix binging. This product is lighter than I anticipated, but feels sturdy. Buttons are large and visible, which makes me think this is a great laptop for all ages, including those who might not be the most technologically-savvy. Additionally, the set-up with incredibly easy, with the audio voice-over guiding you through every step and making setting up your new laptop a breeze. I was surprised by the crisp display and the bright colors. For a laptop at this price point, I think it's pretty rare to see this quality. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. So far, I've used it for working at home and it's been a great fit for me. It has all the capabilities I need and seems to hold a charge really well. Definitely recommend this great laptop, and I might just be an HP convert from here on out!
