So far so good. Got it to keep sand and dirt from coming in the backdoor under dog paws. Thought it would be bigger but this was the biggest they had. Haven't really been home much to tell but previously I had a Matt with a waterproof bottom and very low similar texture top, for wiping feet. Didn't trap sand. So I think the taller woven areas are for that on this rug. Been 2 weeks today and still not flat. Maybe with time.

At first I was not impressed with this rug as it was folded for shipping and as a result there was a heavy crease showing the rubber below. I was about to return it till I researched reviews and one review said to throw it in the dryer on low for a few minutes to eliminate the creases and that worked.
