I bought these scissors to go into my kitchen for for cutting open bags such as frozen foods, potato chip bags, chips, etc . However, I made the mistake of trying to open a box I had received in the mail. These scissors are not strong enough to open boxes and things like that. I recommend them because they are very useful and very cost-effective so just don't try to open cardboard heavy duty boxes with these scissors.!
