AF works like its name says

I selected this webcam for two reasons: It has auto-focus and because Creative's customer support knew what I meant when I asked them if it worked with TWAIN and WIA. The auto-focus works very well, though it is a bit slower to settle in low light conditions. As a programmer, I needed to be able to access the webcam directly, not just through the utility programs that come with it. I found that Creative's support for Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) 2.0 and TWAIN is excellent. I had also tried webcams from Logitech and Philips, but found that they weren't as configurable as was this one.

good camera

After receiving the Optiva AF I installed it on my work computer to test the functionality. It worked fine in the office environment. When I brought the camera home and installed it on my home machine, the functionality was still there, but the frame rates dropped to the minimum. As I discovered it was due the the lighting conditions, and no matter what I tried, the room my computer is in is simply not suited for web cams. While in a extremely well lit room the camera functions great, or in near darkness, it also had great frame rates. If your room is not adequately lit, try another model. If you have no lighting issues, this is a great camera.
