Great value

These are made form molds of the fossils. Most are very accurate and detailed. A couple, like the fossilized pine cone, are not (which is why this is not a 5 rating). This lab works very well for the students to get a basic understanding of the different kids of fossils & where they belong in the geologic time scale. Great value.

Fascinate? Measure? Classify?

The only guide I received is the one pictured. I ordered this kit thinking that I could easily include fossils in my intro Biology course. The hand-out is as pictured and includes the names of fossils. The opposite side of the print-out has a geologic time scale with images of each fossil and where it belongs on the scale. The only thing the students have to do is match up the pictures on front and back. I was hoping for something more. Being a biochemist by training, perhaps there is something I am missing?
