I find all the washer cleaners to be expensive and I am not an expert on what to look for and what works. What I know is I paid a lot for my new front load washer and don't want to take chances. I use one packet every other month as the washer isn't used a lot, such as with a family, but I do wash cat blankets. I'd rather use a name brand and hope it actually does something, than buy cheaper and have it not work.

I have used several different brands of Washing Machine Cleaners over the years and this works best and easiest for me. My tub comes out shiny and smells so good and clean. Occasionally it costs slightly more than other brands but to me it is worth the little extra cost every time.

Good at Cleaning

I've used 2 different machine cleaner products -- one recommended by the washing machine manufacturer of LG (my current washer) and one recommended by Maytag. Of the two cleaners, Tide appears to be the best at cleaning AND disinfecting. The only thing I have a problem with is the overwhelming smell of this Tide product. It may not be a problem for anyone else, but it is for me. So I just shut the door to the laundry room. The only other thing I make sure of is that my next load of clothes is either whites or "who cares what happens to them" clothes, simply because there is a disinfecting substance in the product that may discolor clothes.
