Donald (DJ) Denby finished his medical training in 2005 after being a lifelong student up to that point. Many of the fundamental topics in his novels revolve around thoughts, ideas, and fears that he pondered during his medical training. Issues such as "What if a patient confessed to a crime while under a physician's care?" and "What if a pandemic flu was hijacked for a terrorist aim?" fueled this and his earlier novel.
