It looks as advertised. I, mistakenly, thought it was GLASS. IT IS ALL PLASTIC. The chrome (looking) lid %26 shaft that lift seems poor quality. I think the shaft may break easily as it is very loose inside the container vessel. I am returning it to purchase a glass container and base. I have found some that are glass with the plastic lid %26 shaft. For a few more dollars more, I did find some that have a Stainless Steel mechanism. Stainless Steel is Non-Reactive with Honey. Also it is what Professional Bee Keepers mostly use to process honey from their hives,😋
