Thin, Itchy material, strong smell.

Bought the red - dark blue version. It is more like a brownish red. Seems much thicker on the picture than it really is. I can imagine the wind go right through this hat. My son has put it on (8 year old) and it fits OK, but rather tight than loose. He is an average in size. He did not like it as he says it is very itchy. It also has a very strong chemical smell, assuming that would go away by washing them. Unfortunately, these will go back while we had high hopes for these.
