Best, best, best yogurt maker ever!

Best yogurt maker ever! I've been making yogurt for over 5 years. I had a mostly plastic one previously. It was OK but the yogurt seemed to be grainy. This new one is perfect. My husband is lactose intolerant, so I make yogurt about twice a week. I use the Greek Yogurt setting. I follow the instructions given with the appliance. My husband raves about this new yogurt. Buy it!!!!

Love it.

Love it! No need to warm or boil milk, just pour cold with starter and add 1 hour to the process. Delicious. I only tried normal yogurt. Will try greek another day. I used a digital weigh to ensure i had 1000mg milk. Used organic. Once made and cools (next day) i ate with berries and honey.

Works well so far

I bought this to make l. reuteri yogurt. A drawback is that you can't set the temperature, but it makes yogurt at 104 degrees, which seemed like it would work. I've used it a number of times now and my yogurt has turned out well. I've made l. reuteri as well as the 3 strain yogurt recipe from "Super Gut", which includes b. coagulans and l. casseri. That one is supposed to ferment at 106 degrees, which is why I thought 104 degrees would be ok. What I like about this yogurt maker is that it uses one large glass jar instead of a number of small jars. The only yogurt makers I could find that allow temperature control have small jars, and that seemed too fussy and hard to clean. My first batch of l. reuteri came out kind of watery, so the strainer was useful. Subsequent batches (made with whey that I pour off the yogurt) have turned out nice and thick. I store the whey in the freezer and use that to make new batches of yogurt. This unit lets you set the time anywhere from 10-14 hours, so I reset it a few times to get to 36 hours. I plan to make natto in it as well but haven't tried that yet.
