I love the flaired out leg bottoms as it makes the stool, skid %26 tipping resistant! Even when used outside on, sand, dirt, or rocky uneven surfaces, it feels secure %26 safe. It clearly states height of 9 inches, it also states 300 lb weight bearing capacity, in product details! As a vertically challenged person, (aka a Hobbit) this step stool is very, very handy. I no longer need to summons my husband to reach things for me. When not being used by me, my old, arthritic cat Punkin, borrows it to get on and off the couch. Five Stars for making life easier for us both.
