Get rid of your Gemini Air Dongle that connects to your WIFI and get this Gemini Streaming Media Player that connects directly to an internet RJ45 plug in connection. Call Directv and they will subtract $45 from your next bill to pay for the Gemini Streaming Media Player. You need to talk to an Agent on the phone to get the $45 dollar rebate. Keep pushing them until they agree to pay for it. Solved all my connection problems.

Gemini Box is the answer to cable-cutter prayers!

I'm extremely happy with the Gemini boxes that I've bought from Walmart. They are a godsend to any user who's migrated from cable (Xfinity, here) to Direct TV Stream. You can navigate waaay easier, use quick numbers to locate channels, single button pushes to get to Home screen, Guide, and Recordings. They also use Google AI to locate show and channels and YouTube video. I was ready to throw DTV away (like I did with YouTube TV), until I came across this answer to my prayers! One downside is that there are a lot of "tricks" you have to learn either by trial-and-error, or by stumbling across them on the internet. But once you learn them, they work fantastic. Like backing up 15 seconds, or FFing 30 seconds by a single push of the REW or FF button, FF to end by holding down the FF button, going to Home and down arrow 5 times to resume a recording you were watching. Yep, I'm sold on Gemini and I only hope DTV doesn't pull the rug out from under me some day!

If you're going to use Directv Streaming as your streaming service, you need this device. It's less expensive than renting or buying a Genie and Directv honors the warranty. I have 3 devices and the only issue I had was a faulty controller. When I contacted Directv they helped me troubleshoot and replaced the controller at no cost.
