Good dye for dark hair but no grey coverage

I have very dark brown black hair ( southasian) and have balayage done professionally almost 8months back. But still only fewer strands appear to be light colored in shade Had two grey hair streaks for years so i applied the dye ,expecting it to tint my hair a bit lighter and also covering the grey hair But due unavoidable circumstances got to wash it after 2hours instead of 30mins , the hair got lighter withou even bleach even the roots got more lighter despite being the darkest And unfortunately have zero grey hair coverage
