Front suspension kit fits 1955-1957 hardtop, sedan, and station wagon models. Polyurethane bump stops are included for both upper and lower control arms. Includes sway bar end link brackets welded to lower arms to attach end links to. Billet steel cross shaft for strength with grease fittings for easy servicing. 18-way single adjustable QA1 coilover shocks with 450 lb/in springs included. Kit features 1-inch sway bar with urethane end links and installation hardware. Lower control arm reinforcement plates provided for coilover shock mounting. Improve Your Tri Five Chevy’s Handling with a Bolt-On Front Suspension Upgrade It’s been seven decades since the ’55 Chevy rolled off the assembly line and to this day it is still one of the most popular ’50s cars. Sought after by enthusiasts of all ages, the idea of cruising a Tri-Five Chevy is what keeps these cars in the limelight. However, for many, the enthusiasm often wanes on the first drive when the new owner experiences 1950s suspension and braking technology. These cars are severely outdated in the handling department, having been manufactured with stamped steel control arms that flex and can even fail along with basic hydraulic shock absorbers. To achieve better handling and provide a platform for modern wheel and tire packages and even disc brake conversions that make the Tri-Five much safer and agile on today’s roads, a modern ’55 Chevy front suspension must be fitted. Stamped Versus Tubular, The Benefits of Our Control Arms Are Obvious As we stated earlier, a stamped steel control arm invites lots of sloppiness into your suspension due to flexing and twisting. While a stamping is indeed stronger than a flat sheet of metal, tubing is stronger still. So, when creating ’55 Chevy tubular control arms with steel tubing you greatly increase the rigidity of the product, eliminating that slop from twisting and flexing. We have fitted greasable Delrin bushings and OE-spec ball joints to our tubular A-arms with easy access grease fittings to make maintenance a breeze. Polyurethane bump stops are included for both upper and lower control arms as well. We offer alignment shims for your upper control arms if your old shims are damaged or you need additional shims to set your alignment to your preferred specifications. A Direct Bolt-In Complete Suspension Solution That Is Easy to Install These 57 Chevy front suspension kits bolt into place using your original control arm’s mounting hardware. Additionally, we have provided a fabricated mounting tab for the included 1-inch front sway bar. The 1-inch solid steel black powder coated bar includes polyurethane end link bushings along with new zinc plated end link hardware and mounting hardware for the sway bar itself.
