As air passes through the electrostatically charged filter, the oppositely charged air particles are attracted to the filter media and are trapped. With 98% efficiency, this is a highly efficient form of filtration, several times more efficient than regular fiberglass filters.

MERV Rating These electrostatic filters are rated according to MERV, which is the minimum efficiency reporting value, which is the scale designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to rate the effectiveness of air filters. The higher MERV rating indicates higher filtering performance. The Lennox Media Filters are available as MERV 8, MERV 11, or MERV 13.
