Constantly jetting across the country, firing workers for bosses unwilling to do so, "career transition counselor" Ryan Bingham (George Clooney) is content with a life largely spent in airports and hotels. While he imparts his job philosophy to a new co-worker/protg (Anna Kendrick), an encounter with a sexy fellow frequent flyer (Vera Farmiga) leads Ryan to rethink his detached existence.
