Dancing on the Riviera

Egyptian singer Bob Azzam began his career in Italy in the late 1950s, with his band, singing in Italian and in English. In 1960, he released two songs in France that became huge international hits - "Mustapha" and "Fais-moi du Couscous, Cherie". Bob Azzam continued his career by touring with his orchestra, and finally opened his own night club in Geneva. In recent years, pop artists Jonathan Richman, Rachid Taha and others have performed cover versions of Azzam's hits. Presented here is Bob Azzam's rare late 1950's full length album "Dancing on the Riviera," recorded with his touring orchestra.
