TP-Link RE650 | AC2600 4-Stream Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender | Maximum Speed Up to 8000 Mbps

I purchased this product because I have a detached garage and I wanted to add a Wi-Fi garage door opener. I purchased the Q Link garage door opener, but unfortunately because I had zero Wi-Fi signal at the detached garage I was not able to use the product. To be honest, I was skeptical this was going to be a viable solution. I decided to try it anyway. Just to give you a little background information. My internet speed is only 12MB and 2MB, so it is very slow by today's standards. My modem sits in the far south west corner room in the basement. My detached garage sits behind my house on the northeast corner of my property. The garage door Wi-Fi hub was installed about 125' from the modem . I placed the Wi-Fi extender in the farthest outlet I had in the northeast corner of my basement (closest to the garage). After installing the Wi-Fi extender, I was pleasantly surprised that my wifi garage door opener worked. I have also purchased a wifi security camera/motion floodlight for the detached garage as well. The camera is consistently showing 67-77% signal strength and occasionally as high as 91%.

Purchased to extend the wifi for my ring cameras outside. It works great. I tried using the instructions to set it up, but it did not work correctly. I could only get 2.4 gig to come up. So I googled how to set it up and using the computer method to set it up worked like a charm. I also purchased it to stop the PS4 from freezing up. I haven't had any luck with it wirelessly but I plan to try it using the wired method.
