One spend, ‘till life's end!

I first discovered Merten & Storck after stumbling upon the French competitor, new to the industry, sold on shelves in my neighborhood and asking AI for: German; Japanese; Vietnamese; Russian; Greek; Romanian; Finnish; Costa Rican; Chilean; New Zealander and Bahraini alternatives. I am so absolutely thrilled with my Merten & Storck Dutch Oven ideal for preparing hearty, slow-cooked dishes: Coq au Vin; Beef Bourguignon; Cassoulet; Daube and even Central European dishes Goulash or Asian dishes Plov and Pilaf. This purchase will last a lifetime, more for the discerning shopper unconcerned with popular and perceived to be luxurious Western European competitor brands 🇩🇪

Great size and love the lighter weight

This is my 2nd Merten and Storck Dutch Oven and I absolutely love it! I am learning to keep my flame lower than for a stainless pot due to the great heat conduction of the cast iron. I opted for the larger 7 Qt after buying the 5 qt previously and honestly didn't think I would use it much but it has been great for making stock using turkey bones and the higher sides help keep things from boiling over on my stove top. Finally, it is very attractive on my stove top and light enough for my senior arms to carry when full of soup or pasta sauce.

How did I get by without it?

My husband bought this after I raved about our 4-quart size. It heats evenly and is non-stick if used correctly. It's attractive and goes from stove to oven to table. It's wonderful for all my creole dishes and then some. The first night I used it, my husband did the dishes and chipped some paint off the handle against our porcelain sink. Now it looks like something I've had for a long time.
