Kokeshi dolls have been crafted in Japan for more than 150 years. These children's toys--and later popular souvenirs--are handmade from wood with some delicate painted details. Their most recognized feature is a lack of arms and legs.

These illustrations were chosen to enhance the creative work of origami artists and paper crafters.
