Retro Monster Octopus/Alien) or a giant octopus that swims around to feed. The largest ones are capable of moving at speeds over 100 feet per second and grow up into something bigger than 30 ft in length, however they need food as well for the beast itself to thrive. The creature had been hiding amongst ruins until suddenly it appeared from nowhere with an uncanny ability to absorb light so bright its vision is obscured. It then takes on two forms which I think make sense given this being's size; one can assume these have more life force but my guess would be simply become smaller due all their internal organs taking longer (I'm assuming there was some kind 2nd form).
