Over the stairs, the door stopper helps prevent the door from swinging outward. This gate is easy to install using the included Precision Fit template, which helps ensure a successful installation with no measuring or unnecessary drill holes. This gate is a safe way to protecy your children from falling down the steps, and your whole family, snd guests from tripping over a bottom bar like most other gates I've seen. This gate has NO BOTTOM BAR to have to step over and therefore you wont trip and fall down the steps which is why your using the gate in the first place to protect you from falling down the steps 😉

Perfect baby gate
