Palazzo pants run tall, and not regular size

I bought the 5x and the length was supposed to be 45 inches. The pants are not 45 but 3 inches to long. They would be considered Tall and not a regular size. I am 5'6 and they are 3 inches too long. I don't know how I am going to get them hemmed because I know I would ruin them. I am hoping I can wash and dry on high to shrink them a bit but I don't hold out any hope. I wanted these to be what was described and shown in a picture for sizing. The pants feel good and the patterns are beautiful. Such a shame that i bought two different patterns and both are too long. With shipping added by the seller and the price, I probably won't be able to wear them. $50 dollars down the drain.
