Mounting Brackets Suck!!

The running boards work great and my mother enjoys them but the 2 piece mounting brackets are flimsy. Won't support much weight unless you're a 120lb senior citizen. The description said it could support up to 400lbs. Wrong!! I'm 385lbs and couldn't even get my second leg onto the step while getting into my mother's jeep. I'm in the process of having a local mechanic engineer new sturdy 1 piece brackets.
