ELEC CNTRTP GLASS BURNER

I bought this item to heat colostrum, which has to be kept at 138 to 140 degrees. So I put a pan of luke-warm water on it and began experimenting to see if indeed it would keep it at 140 degrees. I needed to see how long it would take to heat to 140 and then judge it at keeping it at 140 for a time frame of 30 min. I set the electronic temperature and time then I waited. It took 1 hour and 45 min to heat to 140, which didn't concern me as I didn't want to increase the temperature for a rapid increase. However, the reason for buying the unit was to keep heat in a very firm control so it would kill any bacteria without ruining the benefits of the milk. At 140 the heat kept rising in spite of temp control being set on 140 ,until I turned it off. The unit was suppose to keep it warm at 140 to was 158 and rising on the lowest level and temperature setting. I thought of returning the unit because it didn't do what was needed, However it cannot be returned unless the box is UN opened. The unit is brand new turned on once and has failed the test miserably and I can't return it. Buyer beware of this because you may end up with a unit that you can't use or return.

I think it works great. It heats up quickly. It looks sleek and high tech. I would buy again
