The top does NOT look like the picture!
I don't know why they chose this picture for this table. I thought it was a light gray, smooth surface. In the photo you can see a reflection of the books in the shiny surface on the table. When this table arrived today, the top is a rough, grainy wood grain that is light gray, almost a ""whitewash"" finish with a gray undertone. I really wanted this table to look the way it does in the photo, and if it did I would have been super happy! Bummer that they don't at least show a photo that represents what the table actually looks like. I couldn't make this work in my room because the rest of my furniture is a walnut color, so the whitewash/gray tone clashes with it.
