This is not professional grade cookware. The material is thin %26 you can see where they rolled the edge of the lid over to stiffen it. It's taller than it it wide which cuts down on the evaporation a shorter squatter pot would have. It was affordable %26 filled my need for an infrequently used 8qt boiling pot.
