When a shotgun blast peppers the New York Knicks during their pregame warm-up, Ike and Abby are shocked. When an autopsy reveals that the star center, The Big Chill, actually died of a knife wound, the divorced investigators pump up for an athletic investigation into the world of sports, in search of a devious killer. Martin's Press. Abby Abagnarro expected to record an unprecedented event when he and his TV crew set themselves up courtside to the New York Knicks warming up at Madison Square Garden. But Abby thought they were on hand to interview New York's most famous athlete, the Big Chill - not to witness the eruption of shotgun blasts across the court. Abby's big story just got bigger. Every player is carrying buckshot somewhere in his hide, but only the Big Chill lies dying. While the TV crew's video shows no one standing near the Big Chill at the moment of the blast, Ike grows suspicious when the autopsy reveals that the Knicks' notorious center died of a knife wound. Before he can ask too many questions, Abby finds that he has become the killer's next target. Abby and Ike are back in each other's arms (at least on the dance floor!), but still dueling with sharp and witty words. Rollerblading through wintry Manhattan, they search for the killer and still manage to get their network news program on the air every morning.
