I 'bought' a tablet from my BIL that seemed to be a good idea at the time. Boy, do I wish I hadn't!! Talk about slow, prone to lockups, poor storage even when it said there was a lot left. So, my dear hubby told me to pick out another. After three days of searching, reading reviews and debating with myself, I picked out this Samsung Galaxy A. Love at first touch!! I was mainly wanting a tablet dedicated to recipes that didn't take up much room in the kitchen while I cook/bake/clean up my messes. Even tho this tablet is almost three inches bigger than the cra#py one, it suits my purpose and area both. It's only 16gb but holds much more than I'll probably ever use. And fast?! It flips pages and apps better that any of my other electronics (and I've got a few!!). So, if you're wanting a tablet for just about any purpose, I recommend this Galaxy A. Samsung makes great products and this tablet is one of them.

It's my first tablet and I love it

Actually my second tablet. The first one I purchased was a Samsung Galaxy 7 and I thought it was small, not much bigger than a cellphone. So I ordered the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1" tablet with expandable memory and I love it. After the initial full battery charge it would run almost all week long before needing to recharge. Very fast processor with quick downloads and uploads new emails faster than my phone or laptop. I did check out the popular I pad, but the Samsung tablet does everything I need it to for a fraction of the cost. Very happy with my purchase.

Solved some real problems at our church

I purchased two of these Samsung tablets to replace existing tablets used for securely checking children into our Children's Ministry. The old tablets were very inexpensive and their wireless circuitry started to fail after just 18 months of use. The check-in system must be mobile and, as such, requires wireless connection to our network and to wireless printers. Due to a limitation with the application software used for this system, the tablets had to have either an Android OS or iOS . Apple tablets and iPads were far too expensive so I researched and selected these Samsung tablets. They installed easily and work absolutely flawlessly. I was able to easily download all of the apps that we routinely use and connect to all of our wireless printers. The adults managing the check-in process love these units because they work much faster than the cheap pair they were using and they never lose communication with the network or printers. They also like the high-contract onscreen keyboard option since it is visually easier to see in low light conditions. The parents that check in their children also appreciate this feature. The time to register children into the system has been decreased and the number of typing mistakes has dramatically gone down. Another great feature is that the battery life is rated for 15+ hours (our old units started to die after 3 hours). Samsung also offers security downloads to help protect the tablets from malware. Dollar-for-dollar, I believe that the Samsung tablet is one of the best buys out there and Walmart had the best price.
