So far, so good!

I just got a pair today and so far, I've been able to wear them all day and walk without my feet killing me! I had a pair of the original Escalante's and loved them, but they've been ready to be replaced for a couple of years, so I'm excited to be able to have a new pair. I wear a 8.5 and that's what I got in these and they are perfect. Just wish I could have one in each color. :D

Best for road running

I absolutely am thrilled with these shoes. My entire life I have struggled with road running because of the ankle pain I would start feeling not even a couple minutes into running on hard surfaces like pavement and concrete. But with this shoe it is like a miracle, no pain and I can run for miles on end just like I would on softer trails. Wouldn't recommend this shoe for trail running but it does a pretty amazing job on the roads. The cushion sole hits all the right spots.

Toebox is too narrow compared to 1.5!

I was initially concerned that these felt narrower than the Escalante 1.5, and I was right- should have sent them back within the 30 days. But what I appreciated so much when I switched from Brooks to Altra in the 1.5's is lacking in the 2. With the 1.5's, my neuroma was unbothered and my calluses disappeared. Both of these issues have resurfaced with the 2's. Very disappointed and hoping that switching to another Altra road shoe will give me back my foot comfort. PLEASE WIDEN THE TOE BOX AGAIN with the next model!
