The overall flow of Ultramix may seem disjointed (Heavy D leading into P.M. Dawn, or Suzanne Vega followed by Vanilla Ice), yet every one of these songs exist on someone's party mix tape somewhere. The one-two punch of Tone-Loc's "Funky Cold Medina" and Young MC's "Bust a Move" help to set the mood of the album, allowing room for a dance-pop number from C+C Music Factory and a hit by alt-rockers EMF. While the tracklist may induce chuckles ("Ice Ice Baby," "Da' Butt," "I'm Too Sexy"), at a party when things are just starting to slow down, each song seems a perverse treat. ~ Zac Johnson, Rovi
