This is a great combo! This is my second one purchased, the first was a MH 5000 reel purchased straight from PENN. I bought a Medium 2500 reel from Wal-Mart and shipping was great, and I'm happy about the price. I know it's a saltwater set-up but I had to try it out in freshwater first.

Hefty rig did the job for a great price

This is my first saltwater shore rig and landed an enormous sting ray after an hour fight. Threw a four ounce Sputnik and a 12” mullet about 100 yards. Rigged with 50lb braid and 40lb fluorocarbon leader we were all amazed the ray didn't break off. Had to be the rob cushioning the fight. Pretty heavy and wouldn't want to do too much casting with it but it definitely did the job. We caught a sharp nose on this combo also. We also caught a bunch of whiting on a much smaller wrath combo.
