Amazing Value Kit!
This kit is a great deal. It costs less than what I've seen for a single anode rod at a dealership, and you get a lot included. Mine came with TWO anode rods, two rolls of teflon tapex, the 1-1/16 inch socket (a lifesaver), and the flush wand sprayer with a small bottle you can use for a cleaning solution. For the price, that's impossible to beat. I bought it for my Camper water heater and was able to install it myself, which I'm pretty proud of. It wasn't completely smooth, though. The main issue is there were no instructions for putting together the flush wand sprayer. There are a lot of Connectors and different pieces, so it took some trial and error to figure out where everything went, including where to attach the hose. I ended up watching a YouTube video about the entire process of replacing the anode rod, and that made all the difference. Highly recommend doing that if you get the chance. I was also really glad it came with the correct 1-1/16 inch socket. The one I already had didn't fit, so having the one in the kit saved me a trip and made the install much easier. The Flow through the wand is strong and does a good job rinsing out the tank, and the anode rods fit as expected. Everything works once you get it set up. One tip: use a clean drinking water hose for this, not your black tank flush hose. You're cleaning your fresh water heater, so you want to keep everything as clean as possible. As for the little bottle on the sprayer, it's meant for adding a cleaning solution, but I personally just used plain water. I'd be cautious about putting anything into the water heater unless you know it's safe for that use. Overall, it does exactly what it's supposed to do and saves money compared to buying parts separately.
