Updated backpack.

I have had the original Renegade RSS backpack for over 8 years and it served me well when I traveled around North America. I decided to purchase the upgraded version for my new job and I was pleasantly surprised with some of the new options and disappointed with some items that are no longer on the backpack. I like the restyled side compartments with the added deep water bottle pocket. The RSS computer storage area no longer has the hard plastic walls for protection, but it does have more padding now, like the Oakley Kitchen Sink does. I like the removal of the zipped compartment on the straps- never made much sense to me and anything I put in there would unzip and fall out. The Pro Renegade offers a large zip compartment in the front section where your pens and some notebooks go- a nice touch from the original version. The new pockets that are marked for cellphones, iPad and small electronics are nice. The added strap for keys is a very nice touch and long overdue. The new color choices are nice but I miss the riveted handled on the original backpack- it seems like it would last forever. Overall, I would purchase the new PRO over the original.

I've had this bag for a minute now and I have to say, it's pretty great! Upgraded from the Orginal Gambit that I bought in 2014, initially to protect my old laptop as my old backpack had lost its bottom protection. The "RSS" System works as intended, despite its marketing word, it does what it needs. But I have to say the build quality is A1. My only gripe is the perturding sunglasses inside the main compartment. which is where i put my ipad pro, when its a full bag, the sunglass molding gets in the way. but other than that its great.

Nice replacement for my very old Ogio Metro

I have an Ogio Metro bag that is over 15 years old that was in navy. When I saw the new Renegade Pro was offered in navy, and with my Metro being pretty well used, I decided to purchase the Renegade Pro. Overall, the bag is very solidly made, like my old Metro. I do like the crushproof pocket at the top. I do miss that the side pockets aren't as large as what was on my Metro, but it is nice having a dedicated pocket to hold a bottle. There are many more internal pockets than on the Metro and the luggage passthru is a nice plus. Overall, this seems like a worthy replacement for my old workhorse Metro.
