Key item features

Springing from the London School explosion in rural New London, Texas, Aftermath begins more than forty years later, when the narrator recalls the dreadful day she lost her mother and many of her schoolmates. As she weighs both the joys and the sorrows of the life, she eventually comes to terms with the reality that the tragedy can never be overcome, but it can, in significant ways, be redeemed.

Highly Recommended

When I first started reading Christian fiction years ago, Terri Blackstock was one of my most favorite authors. I hadn't read her much over recent years, and now I wonder why because this book proves she is still at the top of her game. This book is heavy on suspense, and light on romance. It is very contemporary with headlines one would not be surprised to see in today's culture. Attorney Jamie Powell is placed in a position of defending her closest childhood friend when he is framed for a mass casualty event. Her best defense is to find the real culprits. This is one of those wonderful books where the reader can't wait to find out how all will be resolved, yet not wanting the book to end. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy from Thomas Nelson via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Gripping tension

This was a very quick read for me, I just couldnt put it down! From the first scene it was mesmerizing. After the *incident*, the story is told from several points of view: Taylor, who was a witness; Dustin, the accused; and Jaime, who is a defending attorney. The connection to the culprit was intricately woven into the plot. I especially liked the reunion between Jaime and Dustin who grew up next door to each other. The health issues of PTSD, OCD and cancer were very well represented and realistic. The story dealt with family, reconciliation and how faith affects our circumstances. It was great to see the growth that Dustin experienced throughout the story. The sure knowledge that God had his back filled him with strength laced with calm. He would fight this, but wouldnt be fighting alone. Ms. Blackstock has proved herself again as a wonderful suspense author. One of my favorite writers. *I won an ebook of this title from Kav at Best Reads. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own.*
