Excerpt from Memorials of Lord Beaconsfield
This volume is published in response to the wish expressed by innumerable Correspondents, that not only the Biographical Notice of Lord Beaconsfield, which appeared in The Standard of April the 20th, but selections from the various other articles and reports published in that journal, during his last illness, death, and funeral, should be preserved for public use in an-enduring shape. The following pages are a record of what occurred from the day on which Lord Beaconsfield became seriously ill to the day on which he' was buried. Their contents are exclusively taken from the columns of The Standard. They are indeed only a selection from what was originally published in the columns of that newspaper, but nothing has.
